Assassin Found Out Now!
Assassin Found – Lost Shifters Book 27! (Click picture for link) Sometimes, you have to go back home in order to find your future, no matter how painful your past may be. Raised by a cruel master, Tiger shifter Rico now works as a freelance assassin. He’s just drifting around with no real home when he hears that Mitchell’s coalition is looking for assassins. Left with no real options, Rico decides to see what the coalition has to offer. Eros is just a Lynx shifter and has never found a place in the coalition. Since he’s so small, he can’t be a soldier, and that makes him feel like he’s inadequate. Then one day he meets the new assassin, and Eros feels an instant attraction. Will Rico be able to see past the Lynx and recognize the real man behind? Or is Eros doomed to be alone forever? Excerpt: After his tray was loaded, he stood there, looking for a place to sit. When he spotted Eros at a table all by himself, Rico smiled. Breakfast wasn’t even over, and already it was looking to be one hell of a fine good day. Rico walked over to Eros’s table and sat down opposite of him. Eros glanced up, both horror and shock written all over his cute little face. As soon as he saw it was Rico, his expression was replaced with worry. Now just what would make Eros worry about Rico sitting with him? “You might want to sit somewhere else,” Eros said. “Why would I want to do that? I happen to like your company,” Rico asked, surprised by Eros’ reaction. The Lynx could be one strange kitty at times. “If you’re seen with a Lynx, it won’t be good for your reputation.” Eros bit on his bottom lip as if admitting to that hurt him. Rico reached over and pulled Eros’ lip free. “Here’s a little news tip for you. I’ve never given a damn what others think of me. You develop a pretty thick skin as an assassin. It may come as a surprise to you, but we’re not all that well-liked either.” Eros tilted his head to the side. “I guess I never thought of it that way. To tell you the truth, ever since we were first introduced, I haven’t thought of you as an assassin. I just think of you as Rico. Which I’m sure sounds stupid to you.” It was as if somebody had reached into his chest and gently squeezed his heart. Rico knew then that he was a goner. Nobody had ever thought of him as anything other than an assassin. They had never stopped long enough to see that he was a real man underneath all the layers of black clothing—that was, until he met Eros. Had things been normal, Rico would have asked Eros out for coffee or maybe even a movie. But things weren’t normal. It wasn’t safe for Rico to step out. If he were to take Eros anywhere and the small Lynx were to get hurt in the fallout, Rico would never forgive himself. No, Rico just had too many enemies and people gunning for his ass. “It doesn’t sound stupid at all. In fact, it’s one of the nicest things that anyone has ever said to me,” Rico said, his chest tight with emotion.
