Ok, I can come up with a valid reason for that. Who knows if it's the right reason…The cone suggests that kitty is unwell/has an injury/skin condition/etc that should not be licked. The baby item points toward skin condition. My friend Jeanne's cat (no longer with us) got "paper skin" as a side-effect of the steroids he had to take and his skin ripped VERY eaisily. She had him in a cone and a baby's onesie.

  2. Thanks, Chris, that does make a lot of sense. The last time my cat, AKA Ugly Cat, ended up in clothes was because she didn't run fast enough and my daughter pinned her down. There is only one thing sadder looking then a nearly hairless cat running around and that's a nearly hairless cat in a bright pink Wenkinz outifit.

  3. Chris says:

Yeah, that would be pretty damn sad!

  4. It was sad. She said she did it to make the cat look pretty, but I told her not even the Fab Five could help our cat.

Well, that is sure pitiful. The cone is to keep the cat from chewing on him/herself. It could be a skin condition or just a sore that he/she won't leave alone. I've had to use one on my dogs a couple of times. It does NOT make them happy. However, the pajamas? Hell if I know. Unless they had to shave the cat's fur because of a skin problem and it is to keep it warm. Or it is part of the treatment i.e. the caregiver is applying some type of topical treatment. Wow, poor animal… 🙁

  6. Lea, thanks for stopping by! Doesn't that poor kitty look so sad? It has to be a skin condition, like Chris says. I just noticed they even cut a hole in the back for his tail. They also rolled up the sleeves, which is just too funny.

LMAO! I'm laughing especially hard since my old cat is a cone head (aka – the cone of shame). He's become allergic to himself in his old age. Weird, yeah, but that's the condensed version of the vet's explanation. If I take the cone off, he starts licking the hair off his back legs. So it's the cone for him. Luckily he doesn't love the kidlet, so he never lets her get close enough to dress him. Though the new kitty was wearing a Build-A-Bear dress the other day. I had to explain to the kidlet that contrary to what she believes, kitty doesn't like wearing clothes.

  8. I am laughing so hard at the "allergic to himself" comment and the visual of a cat running around in a Build-A-Bear outfit. That poor kitten must have been so insulted.
